construction of a split sole rakers and T-spots as part of exercise Balikatan’s
urban search and rescue training in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, Philippines,
April 24. The USAR training familiarized BK15 participants in lumber cutting
and basic shoring, enabling them to more effectively construct T-spots and
split soles in case a collapsing building needs to be supported during a real
world mission. This year marks the 31st iteration of the exercise, which is an
annual Philippines-U.S. bilateral military training exercise and humanitarian
