Images: The Colorado National Guard Partners with the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control
The Colorado National Guard allied with Bode Aviation and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control to train for a civil-military aerial water bucket training exercise in order to help prepare authorities for the state’s wildfire season near Chatfield Reservoir in Littleton, Colo., April 11, 2015. With its focus on safety and operational procedures, Bode Aviation uses the multi-mission aircraft (MMA) to detect and map fires, provide firefighter safety overwatch and monitor evacuations. The MMA is equipped with broadband Internet and data and image processing capability. Operating between 18,000 to 30,000 feet, the MMA’s response time can range from 20 minutes to four hours depending upon the urgency of notification. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt.
