ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - Alexandria officials say a U.S. Air Force helicopter made an emergency landing at an elementary school, but no one was injured. The helicopter landed next to playing fields at William Ramsay Elementary School about 10:30 a.m. Thursday. City officials say no one was in the field when the helicopter landed.
The helicopter experienced mechanical difficulties. It wasn't clear what forced it to make an emergency landing.
Later school officials said students got an impromptu lesson from some military service members about the helicopter in the field near the chopper. http://www.wjla.com/articles/2015/04/u-s-air-force-helicopter-makes-emergency-landing-in-alexandria-113619.html
