FRANKFORT, Ky. —One person is dead and another injured after a construction accident at the Boone National Guard Center in Frankfort.
Military officials: The contractors were working on a new aviation facility that's been under construction for about a year. The accident happened June 15th around 11:45 a.m.
A boom lift collapsed, killing one person and injuring another. Both men were civilian contractors working on a new aviation facility. The one injured man was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center. A military official said they were installing siding on an aircraft hangar.
The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
“The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. And the incident is under investigation at this time,” Brig. Gen. Ben Adams said.
