Two Marines hurt in humvee crash.

A crash involving a Camp Lejeune Humvee and a dump truck has injured at least two Marines.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 50 between Holly Ridge and Maple Hill.

The Humvee caught fire and two Marines were injured.

The Humvee and a dump truck, owned by Skippers Well Drilling from Leland, collided on the highway.

There was extensive damage to the front of the military vehicle, which then caught fire. The inside of the Humvee was charred by the flames.

Marines say the accident happened right outside a gate that leads to base property.

A spokesman says the driver and assistant driver were taken to Naval Hospital.
