Video of Saab Gripen fighter crash on 10 June. Air Base Kecskemet

A Saab Gripen fighter of Hungarian Air Force crashed on 10 June to the land on the Air Base Kecskemet. It was the second Gripen fighter that Hungary lost in the space of two months. The accident with the single-seater Gripen C No. 30 was due to a failure in the collection of the front landing gear, immediately after take-off. With the locked train at an intermediate position, after two hours of flight and fuel shortages, the pilot decided to make a landing without the main train. The plane slid in an uncontrolled way off track, with the pilot to eject and to get hurt in this accident. According to Lieutenant General Zoltan Orosz, and according to "an initial on-site investigation, the plane did not suffer irreparable damage."

The same official said that the accident was due "clearly and in a visible manner to mechanical failure" and there is no connection between this and the spectacular accident on May 19 in Caslav Air Base, with a total loss unit in the Czech Republic
