Technical Sergeant Kyle Houseman of Malmstrom Air Force Base earned the Exchange Club of Great Falls' Firefighter of the Year Award.
TSgt Houseman received the honor during the club's ceremony at the Montana Club in Great Falls on Tuesday.
He was one of three nominees up for the award. The other nominees were from the Montana Air National Guard and Great Falls Fire Rescue.
Houseman says he's honored to have both been nominated and selected as the winner.
Originally from California, Houseman found out he would be a firefighter during basic training in Texas.
His favorite part about his job is the people he works with.
“They're amazing. Especially if you work 24 (hours) on your shift work, you get to know the guys really well.”
In addition to a plaque, TSgt Houseman also received $750.
