Coast Guard rescues surfer in distress near Fire Island, New York
NEW YORK - A Coast Guard crew rescued a kite surfer one mile southwest of Democrat Point Fire Island, New York, Sept. 3, 2016. A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Fire Island was launched to the scene to search for the kite surfer. The crew located the surfer and rescued him from the water.
