Air Evac Lifeteam officials said a medical helicopter was returning to base in Weatherford shortly before 11:25 p.m. on Saturday when their control center lost contact with the crew. They learned the helicopter crashed near Hydro, and three crew members died.
The victims were identified by Air Evac Lifeteam as pilot Russell Haslam, flight nurse Adam Tebben and flight paramedic Steven Fitzgerald.
"Air Evac Lifeteam deeply appreciates the support they have received from the community and our partners in care during this challenging time," an Air Evac Lifeteam official said in a statement to KOCO 5 on Monday. "It is with a heavy heart that we share the names of our three colleagues lost in the tragic January 20 air accident. Pilot Russell Haslam, Flight Nurse Adam Tebben and Flight Paramedic Steven Fitzgerald. We continue to hold their families in our hearts."
