Three rookie firefighters assigned to Fire and Emergency Services at Camp Zama and an Army ammunition depot near Hiroshima received their firefighter badges after completing the three-week Firefighter Rookie Academy Course.

Yuuya Sawayanagi, one of the participants, works at the Kawakami Ammunition Depot in Kure. The course was a great experience and very challenging, he said.
