Twenty-eight soldiers from northern and southern Nevada have completed certification as Type 2 wildland firefighters, enhancing regional firefighting capabilities through a partnership between the Nevada Division of Forestry and the Nevada Army National Guard. They gained skills in line digging, fire procedures, and tool operations. Staff Sergeant Cameron Fricke, a key participant, aspires to advance within the military while honoring his family's firefighting legacy.
