NSF Indian Head Firefighters Recognized for Lifesaving


Story by Andrew Revelos July 14, 2021 at 07:36PM Members of Naval District Washington (NDW) Fire and Emergency Services Indian Head Company were recognized for lifesaving during a July 13 ceremony at the fire house with Naval District Washington Commandant Rear Adm. Michael Steffen and Naval Support Activity South Potomac (NSASP) Commanding Officer CAPT Todd Copeland. The awards covered an astonishing four lifesaving events in the last quarter, with one additional incident too recent for inclusion in the ceremony.

FEELING THE BURN: 152nd CES Firefighters train at Volk Field Air National Guard Base


July 13, 2021 at 01:18PM Airman 1st Class Thomas Cox 152nd Civil Engineer Squadron (CES) fire protection specialists participated in multiple firefighting training exercises here June 7-9, 2021. The training ranged from a live-burn with a C-130 fuselage, to forcible entry and victim extrication and finished with a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) confidence course.
