109th Airmen certify for fighting wildfires

Practice fire extinguisher safety with USAG Bavaria’s Fire Department


Story by Sidney Sullivan June 16, 2022 at 08:48AM During National Fire Prevention Week, the USAG Bavaria Fire Department invites community members to participate in fire extinguisher trainings. This year, the campaign runs from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10, 2020. At these trainings, participants learn about fire safety and practice using a fire extinguisher under the guidance of an instructor. For the remainder of the week, these trainings are offered in both English and German. In case you cannot attend a training, here are main takeaways everyone should know:

Active-duty bonds forged in fire

386th ECES Fire Department completes HAZMAT certifications


Story by Senior Airman Daira Jackson June 01, 2022 at 06:32AM ALI AL SALEM AIR BASE, Kuwait — The 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department, conducted a certification evaluation for hazardous materials incident commanders and technicians on base May 22, 2022. The purpose of the certification is to enable a HAZMAT incident commander to run any type of hazardous materials incident, or an incident involving weapons of mass destruction. HAZMAT technicians are certified to go downrange to plug, patch or stop any breach of chemical hazards or any weapons of mass destruction and isolate the area.
