Christopher Schepers December 21, 2022 at 02:16PM For the holiday season, Airmen of the Maryland Air National Guard adopted a local military family to support and delivered gifts for other families in the community around Warfield Air National Guard Base. The Top 3 Council of the 175th Wing hosted the Chavez family, who currently live in Rockville, Maryland, on base at Martin State Airport, December 20, 2022. During the visit, the family received gifts from Santa, had a catered lunch, visited the base fire department, and learned about the A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft assigned to the 104th Fighter Squadron.

Firefighters practice emergency response to aircraft crash

Story by Sean Kimmons December 20, 2022 at 07:50PM U.S. Army Garrison Japan firefighters took part in their first downed aircraft scenario in more than a year Thursday, as part of an effort to ramp up emergency training at Kastner Airfield. A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, operated by two pilots and a crew chief from the U.S. Army Aviation Battalion Japan, simulated a crash landing that left its tail separated and resulted in severe injuries to the aircrew.

Fort Knox conducts annual full-scale training exercise
Story by Eric Pilgrim December 16, 2022 at 02:28PM Gunshots echoed down the hallway of the top floor of Building 6578 Sept. 21 as part of this year’s multiday installation full-scale exercise. Within minutes, police officers from the Directorate of Emergency Services rushed to the area and secured it, followed shortly by ambulances and fire trucks. One officer, then several more, entered the building to stop the shooter, while members of the fire department identified survivors and worked to get the injured safely out of the building.

GOODFELLOW FIRE DEPARTMENT HOSTS 17TH ANNUAL FIRE MUSTER CHALLENGE
