Theodore Roosevelt, flagship of Carrier Strike Group Nine, is underway conducting routine operations in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations. A passenger plane collided with a Japanese coast guard aircraft and burst into flames on the runway of Tokyo's Haneda Airport on Tuesday, officials said. Japan public broadcaster NHK says 5 crew members from the coast guard plane are dead, but all 379 passengers aboard the passenger plane are reported to have survived.
