Coast Guard Hockey Organization: Supporting Service Members, First Responders


Story by Petty Officer 2nd Class Sydney Phoenix September 19, 2024 at 12:47PM The Coast Guard Hockey Organization won the 2024 Tunnel to Towers (T2T) Heroes Cup Hockey Tournament, competing against teams like NHL alumni, New York City Fire Department (FDNY), and Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD). The team secured a 5-0 victory in the final, honoring the legacy of service members and first responders. The tournament supported the Stephen Siller T2T Foundation, which aids military and first responder families. Reflecting the Coast Guard's hockey tradition dating back to WWII, the organization continues to uphold the values of community, sportsmanship, and service, while fostering camaraderie among members, past and present.

It’s HOT: 374 CES sparks fire safety awareness during Fire Prevention Week

The 374th Civil Engineer Squadron fire department hosted several events for this year’s Fire Prevention Week at Yokota Air Base, Japan, Sept. 8-13.

In the United States, roughly three out of five fire deaths happen in homes with either no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. The risk of dying in a home fire is cut in half in homes with working smoke alarms present.

Army Reserve Supports McConnell AFB Frontiers in Flight Air Show

WICHITA, Kansas – 451st ESC Soldiers supported and participated in the Frontiers in Flight Air Show on McConnell Air Force Base from Aug. 24-25, to help air show attendees stay cool and educate them on some of the abilities of the U.S. Army. We were joined by Soldiers from the 323rd Engineer Detachment Firefighters; Company B, 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, 11th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade; and HHC, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division.
