Pocket Sized Intel: Fighting wildfire with data

All have contributed to wildfires that burn hotter, longer, at all times of year, causing more damage. The information we use to fight fire has changed as well. One hundred years ago wildland firefighters were lucky if they had a map.

Beyond the Firelines: Once a Life Saver, Always a Life Saver

USDA Forest Service too has its ranks of those that go forth into situations that put themselves at risk to help others. But even when the emergency subsides, and the uniform comes off there’s a dedication that doesn’t.
