USS George Washington action
 YOKOSUKA, Japan (May 12, 2015) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Luis Hernandez, from Chicago, takes a sample of aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) solution during a countermeasure wash-down on the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73). George Washington is underway conducting sea trials to evaluate and assess the ship's equipment status and personnel readiness for follow-on at-sea training. George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
