USS George Washington activity

USS George Washington activity PACIFIC OCEAN (May 11, 2015) Sailors aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) test firefighting equipment in the ship's hangar bay during a countermeasures test. George Washington is underway conducting sea trials to evaluate and assess the ship's equipment status and personnel readiness for follow-on at-sea training. George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
