Hard landing does major damage to UH-60

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Kansas National Guard’s 1st Battalion, 108th Aviation has been made an emergency hardlanding in a non-injury training accident at the McPherson airport Tuesday night.

Battalion Administrative Officer, Maj. Joshua Urban, said the helicopter, carrying a crew of four, made a hard landing at approximately 11:54 p.m. during a standard night-training exercise at the McPherson airport.

There were no injuries, but the helicopter sustained significant damage. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
