There are reports there was a shooting this morning at Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda. The Montgomery County Police tweeted that officers at the center have so far not confirmed the shooting report and are working in cooperation with federal authorities.
“About 10:48 this morning, we responded for the call of the sound of a single gunshot that was reported on that campus. We haven't confirmed that it’s a gunshot, but just that it’s the sound,” said Capt. Paul Starks of Montgomery County Police. “And given the times that we’re living in, and given this location, we have responded with a number of folks in order to confirm this, and do this search if necessary, and evacuation if necessary in a safe and organized manner.”
