Senior Airman Brandon L. Ehlers, a firefighter with the 106th Rescue Wing, sprays down a burned area of woods with water on Aug. 21, 2015, in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. Multiple agencies and fire departments responded to a major brushfire in this area. Firefighters from the 106th visited to check for hotspots, a serious concern given the otherwise dry weather over the last week. The four acre fire destroyed a large swath of land outside FS Gabreski ANG just off Old Riverhead Road, requiring a multi-agency response, including eight brush trucks, seven tankers and fourteen departments working together.
